Royal Princess visits Aruba

We had never been to Aruba and brought our scuba gear to check out the
diving we had heard so much about. White sandy beaches were calling us ashore.

Our dinner table mate, Staff Captain Wilson, was busy docking the ship as we pulled into port.

The area around the port appears nice and clean. But of course it would be, this is a Dutch Island.

There is another ship in the harbour as we arrive.

We have been diving in Cayman for years and have heard lots about diving in Aruba. Since the island is Dutch there appears to be a lot of sunken WWII ships off the coast. We were disappointed in the dive. The water was not clear and the current pulled us out to sea, away from the dive site.

As the sun was setting we headed back to the Royal Princess.
We had two days of sailing before we docked at Fort Lauderdale.
More time to relax, socialize, and eat.

Our first port of call Jamaca.

Our second port of call Costa Rica.

The highlight of our cruise was entering the Panama Canal.

Our fourth port was the ancient Spanish city of Cartagena, Columbia.

Our final port was Aruba.
