Lake Lillian Elementary School

I am trying to understand the Lake Lillian Elementary School system.

Originally the elementary grades were in a two rooms:
Grades 1, 2, 3, and 4 in one room and
grades 5, 6, 7, and 8 in another.
At some point, late 40's or early 50's another room was
added and the grades were split up:
1st & 2nd grades;
3rd, 4th & 5th grades (photo below), and
6th, 7th, and 8th grade (like a junior high or middle school grades).

In the 9th grade the students were sent to
Bird Island or some other school district, probably depending upon where they
lived and the bus service to their rural area.

In this photo, on the blackboard, to the right of the teacher is written:
Lake Lillian
Schol District 110
1951-52
Grades 3, 4 & 5

This means the graduating class of 1959 would have been in the 5th grade Georgia Erickson and Sharon Flann.
Bob Nordin, Wayne Lundquist, and Jean Olson would have been in the 4th grade.
Sharon Flann's brother, Dallas (#2) was in the 3rd grade.

Same classroom, photo taken the same day but there are some changes:

Georgia Ericson is in a different dress

In the fourth row Dean Gauer and John Sundine are missing and I think Jerry Flann is sitting behind Sharon Flann

Can anyone varify that it is Jerry Flann and/or explain why Dean and John are missing?
